In Your First Year
First-Year Interest Groups (FIGs)
A FIG is a group of classes, (usually three) that first-year students enroll in together. They are generally built around a common theme like literature, biology, food, or art.
Residential Learning Communities (RLCs)
Join an RLC and live in the same res hall as students with similar interests, like art, global cultures, biosciences, or social justice.
Undergraduate Research Scholars (URS)
Get hands-on experience in research or other creative endeavors by working with UW faculty and research staff. Only available to first-and second-year undergraduate students!
